SUMMARY:Pasta + Boards Pottery Workshop
DESCRIPTION:I’m excited to welcome my good friend and amazing cooking instructor\, Kate Solomon to Slip Studio for a homemade pasta workshop! \nPart 1: We’ll be talking about pasta; Kate will demonstrate kneading homemade pasta dough\, rolling\, and shaping pasta in the traditional way.  No machines\, just hands and know-how\, Kate will guide us through techniques for classic shapes like orecchiette and cavatelli\, focusing on the perfect texture and sauce pairing. \nPart 2: Pottery time!  With a ready-made slab of brown stoneware clay\, Ariella will walk you through carving your own ceramic texture board (rigate board).  You’ll learn about carving into clay for texture and relief. This is a mindful and calming experience.  Your ceramic pasta board will dry slowly\, and Ariella will fire and glaze them in your choice of our studio-made glazes\, ready for pick-up 4-6 weeks later. \nPart 3: And finally\, we eat!  Once we are all done working\, we’ll sit down and enjoy a delightful dinner prepared by Kate (and moi). Pasta\, of course\, with two different sauces\, plus some salads/sides/ cheese/ wine.  You get the drift\, it’ll be a delicious sit-down meal for us to enjoy together.
