DESCRIPTION:Make your next wine and cheese event extra special with a handmade charcuterie board!  This is a personal workshop for your next gathering with friends – make your own charcuterie board. \nCraft Your Own Ceramic Charcuterie Board – Pottery Workshop\nA Creative Wine & Cheese Night Experience in White Plains\nIn this workshop\, we move beyond a boring slab of wood into a high-fire custom stoneware slab of clay.  Presentation is everything – why not make it special and uniquely your own?  Using stamps and textures- add personality to your board. Press letters into the clay\, stamping your favorite cheeses and salami varieties.  Shape divets and rolls\, making rooms for honey or savory jams.  What do you like serving?   \nThe Process: \n\nStart with a giant pre-rolled slab of clay measuring 12″ x 24″ \nUsing stamps and texture rollers\, add personality to your board\nUsing cutters\, add shapes\, and learn to attach using the score/slip technique\nShape waves and curves into your charcuterie board for an organic presentation\nPress into your clay to create divets and crevices for chutneys and jams\nChoose from our food-safe studio-made glazes\nAll materials\, clay\, and tools are included \nThis workshop will last 2 – 2 1/2 hours\nYour charcuterie board will be glaze-fired and dishwasher safe\n\nAriella will slowly fire your charcuterie boards\, then fire and glaze your pieces for pick-up 4-6 weeks later. She will also add rubber feet to your boards so that they lie flat and do not scratch the surface of your table. \nA curated selection of wine\, cheese\, and nibbles will accompany your evening for a complete night out! \nOur studio is small\, and space is limited to a maximum of 12 guests (unless otherwise specified). \nParking is free and plentiful. Bathrooms are clean and across the hall. Please come dressed and ready to get your hands and maybe even your clothes a little dirty. \nPlease arrive on time so that we can start the project with enough time for completion. If guests arrive more than 30 minutes after the start time\, they may be unable to finish their project. Ariella will do her best to accommodate for lateness and skill level\, repairing work when she can to ensure the highest likelihood of survival through the kiln process. \nWorkshops & Family Clay Date cancellation and refund policy: 50% refund with written cancellation up to 1 week before the workshop. Cancellations received less than 1 week before will not be refunded. Rescheduling due to illness is permitted only once. \nPLEASE NOTE: There are NO guarantees in pottery! \nWhile working in clay is calming\, pottery comes with many unknowns. Pottery is unpredictable and sometimes unforgiving. While Ariella will do her best to walk you through each step of the process\, sometimes cracks and issues present themselves along the way. Either in the soft and malleable stage\, or as the piece dries and hardens\, and even into the bisqueware stage\, clay moves and shifts. Even the best potters cannot predict the outcome\, so please keep this in mind! Working in clay is meditative and gratifying; however\, it is also humbling\, as there are many factors out of our control.  This is the magic of ceramics- learning to let go and allowing for the process to guide you\, and accepting that we are not always in control. This is the beauty of clay.  So enjoy the workshop\, class\, or private event\, and remember that the experience IS the best part of pottery!  The final product is just the icing on the cake:). \n\nJoin us at our White Plains pottery studio for a unique Westchester night out.
