SUMMARY:Nerikomi Pottery Workshop
DESCRIPTION:I’m excited to welcome David Jo from Flint & Marble to Slip Studio for this new workshop! \nThis hands-on class introduces students to nerikomi pottery\, a decorative handbuilding technique using layers of colored clay to create patterns and designs. Students will learn how to build and slice patterned clay blocks and apply them to a simple slab-built form\, resulting in a one-of-a-kind functional piece. The class is beginner-friendly and open to all experience levels. \nFriday\, May 1st\, from 10 am -12 pm \nThis session will feature David’s May’s palette -TBD \n\nFeatured Artist: David Jo from Flint & Marble\nStep-by-step instructions will be demonstrated\nYou will make one press-in mold-shaped dish\nAll material\, tools\, clay\, and firing fees are included\nThis workshop will last 1 1/2 – 2 hours\nPieces will be fired and glazed in clear glaze\, to cone 6\nYou can make additional pieces at an additional firing fee (14 cents per cubic inch)\nPick-up of your finished pieces at Slip Studio 4-6 weeks after class\n\n\nDiscover the art of Nerikomi!
