Our Family Clay Date is a tactile\, 2-hour handbuilding workshop where parents and children (ages 8+) can connect through the messy\, joyful art of pottery. \nIn this workshop\, you and your child will work at your own pace to create unique ceramic treasures for your home. \nUpcoming Project Themes:\n\n\nTic-Tac-Toe Boards: Sculpt your own game board and personalized playing pieces. \n\n\nGarden Gnomes: Create a whimsical ceramic friend for your yard or bookshelf. \n\n\nBird Houses: Hand-build a functional\, decorative home for your backyard birds. \n\n\nPet Feeders: Construct and decorate custom food or water bowls for your dog or cat. \n\n\nWorkshop Highlights:\n\n\nAll-Inclusive: All tools\, clay\, and professional kiln firing fees are included. \n\n\nPickup: Your work will be fired\, glazed\, and ready for pickup at our White Plains studio in 4–6 weeks. \n\n\nSkill Level: Perfect for beginners! Ariella guides each participant step-by-step through the coil and slab methods. \n\n\nTickets & Registration: \n\n\nTickets are sold separately\, per person. Please ensure you purchase a ticket for both the child and the accompanying adult.  \n\nThis workshop will last 2 hours\n\nCome and play at Slip Studio—the perfect weekend family outing in Westchester! \nStudio Logistics & Policies\n\n\nSpace is Limited: Our studio is intimate; workshops are capped at 12 guests unless otherwise specified. \n\n\nArrival: Please arrive on time. To ensure everyone completes their project\, guests arriving more than 30 minutes late may be unable to finish. Ariella will do her best to accommodate and assist with repairs to ensure your work survives the kiln. \n\n\nDress Code: Please come dressed to get your hands (and potentially your clothes) a little dirty! \n\n\nAmenities: Parking is free and plentiful. Clean restrooms are located just across the hall. \n\n\nCancellations & Refunds\n\n\nPolicy: A 50% refund is available with written cancellation up to 1 week before the workshop. Cancellations made less than 1 week prior are non-refundable. \n\n\nRescheduling: Rescheduling due to illness is permitted once. \n\n\nA Note on the Magic of Ceramics\n\nPLEASE NOTE: There are no guarantees in pottery! While working in clay is meditative and gratifying\, it is also beautifully unpredictable. Clay moves\, shifts\, and sometimes cracks as it dries or during the firing process—even for the most experienced potters.
