SUMMARY:Pasta + Boards Pottery Workshop
DESCRIPTION:I’m excited to welcome my good friend and amazing cooking instructor\, Kate Solomon to Slip Studio for a homemade pasta workshop! \nPart 1: We’ll be talking about pasta; Kate will demonstrate kneading homemade pasta dough\, rolling\, and shaping pasta in the traditional way.  No machines\, just hands and know-how\, Kate will guide us through techniques for classic shapes like orecchiette and cavatelli\, focusing on the perfect texture and sauce pairing. \nPart 2: Pottery time!  With a ready-made slab of brown stoneware clay\, Ariella will walk you through carving your own ceramic texture board (rigate board).  You’ll learn about carving into clay for texture and relief. This is a mindful and calming experience.  Your ceramic pasta board will dry slowly\, and Ariella will fire and glaze them in your choice of our studio-made glazes\, ready for pick-up 4-6 weeks later. \nPart 3: And finally\, we eat!  Once we are all done working\, we’ll sit down and enjoy a delightful dinner prepared by Kate (and moi). Pasta\, of course\, with two different sauces\, plus some salads/sides/ cheese/ wine.  You get the drift\, it’ll be a delicious sit-down meal for us to enjoy together.

Join our Ceramic Berry Bowl Workshop and handbuild a functional\, beautiful piece of tableware for your spring and summer harvests. \nA custom-made stoneware berry bowl (or mini colander) with built-in drainage holes is the perfect addition to your kitchen table—ideal for washing and serving fresh market strawberries\, blueberries\, and blackberries. \nThe Creative Process: \n\n\nSlab & Pinch Construction: Learn to shape a unique vessel using premium brown stoneware clay. \n\n\nFunctional Design: We will guide you through the process of measuring and cutting drainage holes to ensure your bowl is as practical as it is charming. \n\n\nSurface Texture: Customize your piece with hand-carved details or your choice of our studio’s colorful glazes. \n\n\nWorkshop Highlights: \n\n\nRelaxed Environment: This 2–2.5 hour casual workshop is designed for you to unplug and create. Bring your friends for a mindful evening of clay and connection. \nStudio Logistics & Policies\n\n\nSpace is Limited: Our studio is intimate; workshops are capped at 12 guests unless otherwise specified. \n\n\nArrival: Please arrive on time. To ensure everyone completes their project\, guests arriving more than 30 minutes late may be unable to finish. Ariella will do her best to accommodate and assist with repairs to ensure your work survives the kiln. \n\n\nDress Code: Please come dressed to get your hands (and potentially your clothes) a little dirty! \n\n\nAmenities: Parking is free and plentiful. Clean restrooms are located just across the hall. \n\n\nCancellations & Refunds\n\n\nPolicy: A 50% refund is available with written cancellation up to 1 week before the workshop. Cancellations made less than 1 week prior are non-refundable. \n\n\nRescheduling: Rescheduling due to illness is permitted once. \n\n\nA Note on the Magic of Ceramics\n\nPLEASE NOTE: There are no guarantees in pottery! While working in clay is meditative and gratifying\, it is also beautifully unpredictable. Clay moves\, shifts\, and sometimes cracks as it dries or during the firing process—even for the most experienced potters. SUMMARY:Carve Your Own Jewelry Dish Pottery Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Carve your own jewelry dish out of brown stoneware clay.  This is a mindful and calming exercise of slowly carving clay out of a thick slab of clay and creating divets\, crevices and grooves for you to store your rings\, jewelry\, and trinkets.   \nAriella will guide you through the whole process\, creating a true slow-art experience.  Once you are done\, Ariella will then monitor your pieces as they dry slowly\, fire and glaze them in your choice of the colorful glazes.  Your beautiful dishes will be ready for pick-up 4-6 weeks later.
