Join Slip Studio and Brooklyn Kura for a unique, hands-on experience celebrating craft, culture, and sake. In this guided workshop, guests will hand-build their own ceramic sake cups under the instruction of Slip Studio's Ariella Toeman, learning fundamental techniques in clay while creating a functional piece to later pick up and take home.
Following the workshop, enjoy a guided brewery tour at Brooklyn Kura, where you’ll learn about the sake-making process and the role of craftsmanship in every pour. The experience includes a complimentary taste of Brooklyn Kura’s freshly pressed sake.
All cups will be professionally fired and glazed, and will be ready for pickup approximately four weeks after the event.
Perfect for sake lovers, craft enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a creative and memorable afternoon.

There are few teachers like Ariella. She brings confidence and fun to every class, making the work feel both joyful and approachable. Whenever I made a mistake, she showed me simple, effective ways to fix it, so I didn’t have to start from… More scratch. Those small, smart tips helped me grow because I could build on what I’d already learned instead of beginning again each time.
Ariella is not only a beautiful artist but also a gifted teacher and a genuinely kind person. Her calm energy and passion for what she does are absolutely contagious. I can’t wait to take another class with her; it’s truly my happy place.
This is an amazing new studio and I am so happy that it is close to my home. I took my kids - three different ages - to family clay day on a day off of school. The studio is beautiful, clean and comfy. Really nice. Ariella was helpful in… More the planning of the projects, was supportive giving tips and ideas. The kids all commented on how nice she is! There was lovely conversation with everyone. It was just a great experience. I could have spent another hour or two there. My hope is for my daughter to join one of her classes, and for me to join an adult class. We all felt right at home there. Ariella is a very talented artist and teacher.
My experience at Slip Shop exceeded my expectations. Took a Tile Mug workshop and cannot believe how beautifully it turned out. The shop is roomy and inviting; it was so organized, I felt immediately comfortable to set up a work area. Firstly,… More I engaged in some light chatter with friendly strangers sharing lovely charcuterie and beverages. Ariella made her own bread; yes please! Back to the clay: there are works to inspire, some finished and works in progress. I saw uniquely designed platters that make me want to sign up for a series of classes so I can make my own. Great experience!
Slip studio is a warm and inviting atmosphere where I could just relax and create. As someone who had never taken a class like this before, I didn’t know what to expect but I ended up having the best time. I’m sooo proud of my board!!!… More
I also feel like this could be a bachelorette or book club party waiting to happen.
