- Description
In this lesson, we will explore surface decoration by using Amaco Ceramic Inks and hand-made craft foam stamps to create layered designs on bisque tiles and cylinders. We will also learn how to use Amaco Ceramic Inks with silk screens and stencils, creating transfers for decorating a hand-built tray.
What's included:
- 1 - 6x6 bisqued tile (ready-made)
- 1 - 4" bisqued cylinder (ready-made)
- Clay for rolling out your own slab and making your own custom printed 10" plate
- All instruction, materials, tools, and firing fees
This is a very special 3-hour hands-on workshop, led by Amaco instructor Lisa di Stefano.
Students will learn all about Amaco products and how best to use underglazes and ceramic printing inks in a variety of printing styles. Students will be making foam stamps and printing on ready-made bisque tiles and cylinders. Lisa will demonstrate using inks with stencils and silkscreens, and then we will have the chance to test out this process on a rolled slab of clay, for a custom 10" printed plate.
Questions and hands-on learning - all about printing on clay using stamping and silk screening processes.
Your custom plates will be fired and glazed with a clear (food-safe) glaze, ready for pick-up from Slip Studio 4-6 weeks later.
