This is a project-based class for beginners, each week we'll focus on a particular technique in handbuilding and surface decoration.  Learn the basics & expand your skills, creating unique pieces for your home and table. Explore different clay building techniques; coil building, slab rolling, using hump/slump molds, and wall extruder. 

Wednesday mornings from 10am-1pm, January 6th-March 27th 2026. (No class the week of Feb 16)

This is a project-based class for beginners, each week we'll focus on a particular technique in handbuilding and surface decoration.  Learn the basics & expand your skills, creating unique pieces for your home and table. Explore different clay building techniques; coil building, slab rolling, using hump/slump molds, and wall extruder. 

Our winter session runs from January to March.  Classes will take place on Wednesdays from 10am-1pm.  Classes will run on January 7, 14, 21, 28, 4, 11, 25 (NO class Feb 18), March 6, 13, 20, 27.  Maximum 8 students per class.  Tools, supplies and firing fees included. Missed classes can be made up during alternative class times (tues/wed/thurs).

Ariella is a ceramic artist with over a decade of experience on the potter's wheel. Her passion for hand building started a few years ago with a slew of bowls and cups in her cupboard, and a desire to explore creativity, form, surface design and freedom in her ceramics.  Her pieces are influenced by her background in food, cooking and pastry arts.  She loves to teach beginners and intermediate artists, sharing her passion for clay and slow art.
