Nerikomi Pottery Workshop

I'm excited to welcome David Jo from Flint & Marble to Slip Studio for this new workshop!
This hands-on class introduces students to nerikomi pottery, a decorative handbuilding technique using layers of colored clay to create patterns and designs. Students will learn how to build and slice patterned clay blocks and apply them to a simple slab-built form, resulting in a one-of-a-kind functional piece. The class is beginner-friendly and open to all experience levels.
Friday, May 1st, from 10 am -12 pm
This session will feature David's May's palette -TBD
- Featured Artist: David Jo from Flint & Marble
- Step-by-step instructions will be demonstrated
- You will make one press-in mold-shaped dish
- All material, tools, clay, and firing fees are included
- This workshop will last 1 1/2 - 2 hours
- Pieces will be fired and glazed in clear glaze, to cone 6
- You can make additional pieces at an additional firing fee (14 cents per cubic inch)
- Pick-up of your finished pieces at Slip Studio 4-6 weeks after class
