Make your very own ceramic loaf pan for your next banana bread or carrot loaf!  Or, better yet, make a custom, unique Christmas gift for that amazing baker in your life! 

Join us for a 2-hour pottery workshop where we'll build and design our own stoneware baking loaf pan, (measuring 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" ).  Your pieces will be fired, glazed, and oven-ready!

The Process:
  • Learn how to roll the perfect slab of clay and construct a ceramic box using angles, scoring, and slipping.
  • Personalize your loaf pan with handles or textures.
  • Add details such as stamping, letters, and relief to your dish.
  • Decide on your finish- choose from our selection of studio-made glazes.

    I'm excited to welcome my good friend and amazing cooking instructor, Kate Solomon, to Slip Studio for a homemade pasta workshop!

    Part 1: We'll be talking about pasta.  Kate will demonstrate how to mix and knead homemade semolina pasta dough: rolling and shaping classic Italian shapes.  No machines, just hands and know-how, Kate will guide us through techniques for classics like orecchiette and cavatelli, focusing on the perfect texture and sauce pairing.

    Part 2: À tavola! Once we are all done working, we'll sit down and enjoy a delightful pasta dinner prepared by Kate.  Homemade crostini, a possible cheese plate or seasonal dip, pasta two ways, and a glass of wine to wash it all down.  We'll sit down and enjoy our company and all of our hard work together.

    Part 3: Pottery time!  With a ready-made slab of brown stoneware clay, Ariella will walk you through carving your own ceramic texture board (rigate board).  You’ll learn about carving into clay for texture and relief. This is a mindful and calming experience.  Your ceramic pasta board will dry slowly, and Ariella will fire and glaze them in your choice of our studio-made glazes, ready for pick-up 4-6 weeks later.
