Join our Ceramic Berry Bowl Workshop and handbuild a functional, beautiful piece of tableware for your spring and summer harvests.

A custom-made stoneware berry bowl with built-in drainage holes is the perfect addition to your kitchen table—ideal for your fresh market strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries.

The Creative Process:

  • Learn how to expertly roll, compress, and cut a slab of clay with precision
  • Choose from a selection of underglaze transfer sheets from Elan Transfer, or choose to paint your own design!
  • Assemble your berry bowl- scoring and slipping your connections and adding a foot
  • Choose from a selection of bright and colorful glazes for your finish

Workshop Highlights:

  • This 2-hour casual workshop is designed for you to unplug and create. No experience necessary!
  • All materials, tools, and professional kiln firing are included
  • Your finished pieces will be glazed and ready for pickup 4–6 weeks after class

  • Pasta + Boards Pottery Workshop

    I'm excited to welcome my good friend and amazing cooking instructor, Kate Solomon, to Slip Studio for a homemade pasta workshop!

    Part 1: We'll be talking about pasta.  Kate will demonstrate how to mix and knead homemade semolina pasta dough: rolling and shaping classic Italian shapes.  No machines, just hands and know-how, Kate will guide us through techniques for classics like orecchiette and cavatelli, focusing on the perfect texture and sauce pairing.

    Part 2: À tavola! Once we are all done working, we'll sit down and enjoy a delightful pasta dinner prepared by Kate.  Homemade crostini, a possible cheese plate or seasonal dip, pasta two ways, and a glass of wine to wash it all down.  We'll sit down and enjoy our company and all of our hard work together.

    Part 3: Pottery time!  With a ready-made slab of brown stoneware clay, Ariella will walk you through carving your own ceramic texture board (rigate board).  You’ll learn about carving into clay for texture and relief. This is a mindful and calming experience.  Your ceramic pasta board will dry slowly, and Ariella will fire and glaze them in your choice of our studio-made glazes, ready for pick-up 4-6 weeks later.
