Join us at Slip Studio for a creative, hands-on Candle & Incense Burn Dish Workshop.

In this 2.5-hour session, you will learn to hand-build a custom ceramic vessel designed for incense, palo santo, or tea light candles. This is the perfect beginner-friendly pottery workshop for anyone looking to unplug and create something beautiful for their home or patio.

What You Will Learn:

  • Master the fundamentals of handbuilding - pinch pots and slab rolling

  •  Learn how to score and slip a custom knob and other features

  • Use colored underglazes to personalize your piece.

  • Cut "peep holes" into your lid for airflow and light play

Workshop Details:

  • Your finished pieces will be glazed and ready for pickup at our White Plains studio in 4–6 weeks.

  • Tea, coffee, and sparkling water are provided—feel free to bring your favorite snacks!

A unique date night in Westchester or a mindful solo escape.

  • Kintsugi Pottery Workshop with HV Kintsugi

    Join us for a special Kintsugi workshop led by Art Therapist Tara DeLuca. 

    Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery. If a bowl is broken, rather than discarding the pieces, the fragments are put back together, and the cracks are adorned with gold. There are no attempts to hide the damage; instead, it is highlighted. This practice has come to represent the idea that beauty can be found in imperfection!

    A modern Kintsugi approach:

    *Break, paint, and rebuild your own ceramic bowl
    *Create a connection with your piece and your personal journey
    *Highlight the cracks with gold glue, creating a unique design
    *Share your journey collectively or in small groups

  • Pasta + Boards Pottery Workshop

    $125.00
    I'm excited to welcome my good friend and amazing cooking instructor, Kate Solomon to Slip Studio for a homemade pasta workshop!

    Part 1: We'll be talking about pasta; Kate will demonstrate kneading homemade pasta dough, rolling, and shaping pasta in the traditional way.  No machines, just hands and know-how, Kate will guide us through techniques for classic shapes like orecchiette and cavatelli, focusing on the perfect texture and sauce pairing.

    Part 2: Pottery time!  With a ready-made slab of brown stoneware clay, Ariella will walk you through carving your own ceramic texture board (rigate board).  You’ll learn about carving into clay for texture and relief. This is a mindful and calming experience.  Your ceramic pasta board will dry slowly, and Ariella will fire and glaze them in your choice of our studio-made glazes, ready for pick-up 4-6 weeks later.

    Part 3: And finally, we eat!  Once we are all done working, we'll sit down and enjoy a delightful dinner prepared by Kate (and moi). Pasta, of course, with two different sauces, plus some salads/sides/ cheese/ wine.  You get the drift, it'll be a delicious sit-down meal for us to enjoy together.

    $65.00
    Unplug and create: a screen-free Sunday for the whole family. Bring the kids to the studio for a tactile, hands-on experience. Our Family Clay Date is designed for parents and children (ages 8+) to connect through the messy, joyful art of handbuilding.  Family Clay Date is a 2hr clay workshop for you and your kids to do together!  Tickets are sold separately, per person.
