The Process:

*Using cutters, add shapes, and learn to attach using the score/slip technique
*Shape waves and curves into your charcuterie board for an organic presentation
*Press into your clay to create divots and crevices for chutneys and jams

Elevate your next gathering with a ceramic charcuterie board, handmade by you at Slip Studio in White Plains. Join us for a 2-hour pottery workshop where you will design and construct a grazing board -perfect for your next wine and cheese event.

The Process:
  • Learn how to roll the perfect slab of clay
  • Personalize & texture your board, making waves, pressing texture rollers and stamps into your board
  • Customize your shape, adding divots, handles, or decorative cut-outs
  • Decide on your finish- choose from underglaze transfer sheets and a selection of studio-made glazes
Workshop Highlights:
  • This is a 2-hour hands-on pottery workshop
  • All clay, tools, and professional kiln firing are included
  • Your final charcuterie board will be glaze-fired, non-porous, and dishwasher-safe
  • Rubber feet will be added to your charcuterie plate so that it's even and doesn't scratch your tabletop
  • Ready for pickup in 4–6 weeks
  • Coffee, tea, and sparkling waters will be provided

    I'm excited to welcome my good friend and amazing cooking instructor, Kate Solomon, to Slip Studio for a homemade pasta workshop!

    Part 1: We'll be talking about pasta.  Kate will demonstrate how to mix and knead homemade semolina pasta dough: rolling and shaping classic Italian shapes.  No machines, just hands and know-how, Kate will guide us through techniques for classics like orecchiette and cavatelli, focusing on the perfect texture and sauce pairing.

    Part 2: À tavola! Once we are all done working, we'll sit down and enjoy a delightful pasta dinner prepared by Kate.  Homemade crostini, a possible cheese plate or seasonal dip, pasta two ways, and a glass of wine to wash it all down.  We'll sit down and enjoy our company and all of our hard work together.

    Part 3: Pottery time!  With a ready-made slab of brown stoneware clay, Ariella will walk you through carving your own ceramic texture board (rigate board).  You’ll learn about carving into clay for texture and relief. This is a mindful and calming experience.  Your ceramic pasta board will dry slowly, and Ariella will fire and glaze them in your choice of our studio-made glazes, ready for pick-up 4-6 weeks later.
