Family Clay Date is a 2hr clay workshop for you and your kids to do together!  Work on separate projects, kids, teens and adults working at their own pace and skill level.  This is a project-based workshop, suitable for kids 8+ and their caregivers.

This workshop we'll be making Tic Tac Toe boards.  We'll work with ready rolled slabs of clay and cut your very own shaped tic tact toe board. Then we'll cut/shape the game pieces and paint them. Game sets will be fired and ready for pick-up 4 weeks later. All tools, clay and firing fees are included. Tickets are sold separately, per person.

This month: "Face Mugs".  We'll have leather hard cups for you to attach handles, mustaches, eye balls, or anything your hearts desire.  Cups and mugs will be painted in underglaze, fired and glazed in clear, for pick-up 4 weeks later. All tools, clay and firing fees are included. Tickets are sold separately, per person. 

Looking for a date night or a mom's night out?  This is a casual 2hr workshop, no experience necessary!  We'll cut and design a custom cheese board, covering the surface in colored slip and decorating using tools, stamps and the art of sgrafitto.

In this hands-on workshop Ariella will guide you through this calming experience, carving through leather hard clay exposing the surface below and creating layers of design and texture.  Sgrafitto is a mindful and relaxing process that takes time and patience, a great way to unplug and recharge. 

Your pieces will the fired, glaze and re-fire your pieces, ready for pick up 4 weeks later.  All materials and tools are provided. 

Included in the evening; a curated selection of beverages and homemade nibbles to go with for a complete experience.  Come and enjoy an evening out at Slip Studio!

Looking for a date night or a mom's night out?  This is a casual 2hr workshop, no experience necessary!  Bring your creativity and your friends for a mindful evening and a chance to unplug. 

In this hands-on workshop we'll make a matcha set: tea bowl and chasen holder. We'll make a pinch pot tea bowl (with or without a spout) and roll out clay for a slab built chasen (whisk  holder).  Make it all your own using textures, stamps and decals.  Ariella will the fire, glaze and re-fire your pieces, ready for pick up 4 weeks later.  All materials and tools are provided. 

While we work, we'll enjoy matcha tea and a selection of Japanese delights including amazing cream puffs made by Cream Bomb NYC.  Naoko from Cream Bomb NYC makes the most deliciously silky Japanese style cream puffs in a variety of flavors. Come hungry! 

Learn the basics & expand your skills, creating unique pieces for your bedroom and friends. Bring your inspiration and we'll teach you how to build out of clay, exploring different techniques. This is a project-based class focusing on form and creativity, we'll use a variety of techniques building skills and confidence.  Pottery is all about patience and acceptance:)

This clay class is for middle school students in grades 6-8. Classes will take place on Wednesdays from 4:30-6pm.  Classes will run on January 7, 14, 21, 28, February 3, 10, 24 (NO class Feb 17), March 4, 11, 18, 25.  Max 8 students per class.  Tools, supplies and firing fees included.  Sorry, no make-ups. 

Slip Studio is an adult workspace with bar height stools and high worktables.  Kids should have the ability to focus on an interested project, our classes run 1 1/2 hours with a short break.
