Kids Clay Camp Week 5 - Aug 3rd - 7th - Baking with Chocolate

As you can tell, this will be a favorite week for many, chocolate! Dark, milk, and white, we’ll be layering clay and making imprints and checkerboards using brown and white clay. Chocolate fondue, anyone? Yes, please! How about a mug cake? First, we’ll have to build our own mug, then we’ll have to test the recipes (of course:)).

Each week, two camp sessions will be offered: lower school mornings from 9:30 am-12:30 pm for kids in 3rd-5th grade and middle school afternoons from 1:30-4:30 pm for kids in 6th-8th grade. Slip Studio is an adult workspace with bar-height stools and high worktables.  Kids should have the ability to sit and stay focused on a project. Our camp runs for 3 hours, including a short snack break.

Kids Clay Camp Week 3 - July 20-24th - Minecraft, Avatars & Anime

This week is all about PLAY! Make your favorite characters and game pieces, and let’s create some stop motion videos.  Minecraft boxes, chess and checker game pieces, tic-tac-toe boards, and volcanoes. We’ll even make a mug decorated with your favorite anime characters.

Kids Clay Camp Week 4 - July 27-31st - A week at the Jellycat diner!

This week *everything* will be cutesie and tiny!! We’ll be working [small] and making jellycat magnets, beads, and teensy tiny, little things... plus jewelry and ring dishes for all of your keepsakes. Transfers, textures, decals and cutters, wires and weaving, and even a little gold luster if we can fire our pieces in time!

Kids Clay Camp Week 1- Bento boxes & Japanese foods

Looking for a creative date night or a fun, casual night out in White Plains? Join us at Slip Studio for our Glaze Your Own Test Tile Mug Workshop! This is a different kind of "Paint & Sip" event where you get to decorate a professional, handmade ceramic mug with your own custom colors and designs.

No pottery experience is necessary! We provide the "bisque-fired" mugs (already shaped and fired once), and you provide the creativity.

The Creative Experience:

• Choose Your Form: Pick from a variety of individually shaped, handmade mugs.

• Tape Resist Technique: Learn how to use professional tape-resist methods to create clean, modern lines, geometric patterns, or bright, colorful blocks of color.

• Custom Glazing: Use our studio’s wide selection of high-quality glazes to bring your "Test Tile" design to life.

• Ready to Use: After the workshop, we will fire your mug in our kiln. It will be food, microwave, and dishwasher safe, ready for pickup in 4–6 weeks.

Studio Logistics & Policies

• Space is Limited: Our studio is intimate; workshops are capped at 12 guests unless otherwise specified.

• Arrival: Please arrive on time. To ensure everyone completes their project, guests arriving more than 30 minutes late may be unable to finish. Ariella will do her best to accommodate and assist with repairs to ensure your work survives the kiln.

• Dress Code: Please come dressed to get your hands (and potentially your clothes) a little dirty!

• Amenities: Parking is free and plentiful. Clean restrooms are located just across the hall.

Cancellations & Refunds

• Policy: A 50% refund is available with written cancellation up to 1 week before the workshop. Cancellations made less than 1 week prior are non-refundable.

• Rescheduling: Rescheduling due to illness is permitted once.

A Note on the Magic of Ceramics

• PLEASE NOTE: There are no guarantees in pottery! While working in clay is meditative and gratifying, it is also beautifully unpredictable. Clay moves, shifts, and sometimes cracks as it dries or during the firing process—even for the most experienced potters. This is the "magic" of ceramics: learning to let go, accepting that we aren't always in control, and finding beauty in the process.
