A custom-made stoneware berry bowl (or mini colander) with built-in drainage holes is the perfect addition to your kitchen table—ideal for washing and serving fresh market strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries.

The Creative Process:

  • Slab & Pinch Construction: Learn to shape a unique vessel using premium brown stoneware clay.

  • Surface Texture: Customize your piece with hand-carved details or your choice of our studio’s colorful glazes.

  • All-Inclusive: All materials, tools, and professional kiln firing are included.

  • Refreshments: A curated selection of drinks and snacks will be provided to complete your creative night out.

  • Pickup: Your finished pieces will be glazed and ready for pickup at our White Plains studio 4–6 weeks after class.

Looking for a unique date night or a mom's night out in Westchester? Bring your friends for a mindful evening of clay and connection.

Studio Logistics & Policies

  • Space is Limited: Our studio is intimate; workshops are capped at 12 guests unless otherwise specified.

  • Arrival: Please arrive on time. To ensure everyone completes their project, guests arriving more than 30 minutes late may be unable to finish. Ariella will do her best to accommodate and assist with repairs to ensure your work survives the kiln.

  • Dress Code: Please come dressed to get your hands (and potentially your clothes) a little dirty!

  • Amenities: Parking is free and plentiful. Clean restrooms are located just across the hall.

Cancellations & Refunds

  • Policy: A 50% refund is available with written cancellation up to 1 week before the workshop. Cancellations made less than 1 week prior are non-refundable.

  • Rescheduling: Rescheduling due to illness is permitted once.

A Note on the Magic of Ceramics

  • PLEASE NOTE: There are no guarantees in pottery! While working in clay is meditative and gratifying, it is also beautifully unpredictable. Clay moves, shifts, and sometimes cracks as it dries or during the firing process—even for the most experienced potters. This is the "magic" of ceramics: learning to let go, accepting that we aren't always in control, and finding beauty in the process.
  • We invite you to enjoy the experience as the most important part of your visit; the final product is simply the icing on the cake!

What do you know about olive oil? It's good for us, yes! But what else do you know about extra virgin olive oil (evoo)?

Tamara, a certified OO sommelier from Agape Premium is going to walk us through important factors we should know when buying, tasting, and using extra virgin olive oil.  We will taste and talk about olive varieties and terroir. We will also talk about cooking, usage, and storage for optimal health benefits. Come hungry to learn and eat!  We'll make some dipping oils to taste and of course, wine and nibbles to share.

The second half of our workshop will focus on making your own garlic grating dish.  We'll have leather-hard small plates for you to paint with slips and underglazes, using sgrafitto tools to make ridges and patterns.  Don't worry, we'll show you how!

Extra Virgin Olive Oil Tasting & Sgraffito Pottery Workshop

A Culinary and Creative Collaboration with Agape Premium

Thurs Feb 26th from 7-9pm

In this tasting and workshop:

  • Learn about olive varieties, harvest, and processing of olive oil in Greece
  • Taste a variety of olive oils
  • Educate yourself on the health benefits of cooking with olive oil
  • Discuss the myths about cooking, storing, and choosing the best olive oils
  • Share recipes, savory and sweet, using olive oil
  • Decorate premade ceramic garlic grating dishes
  • Paint your dishes with underglazes and learn how to carve grooves to grate your garlic and ginger
  • All materials, clay, and tools are included
  • This workshop will last 2-2 1/2 hours

Your garlic garters will dry slowly, then get fired and glazed, ready for pick-up 4-6 weeks later.

A curated selection of drinks and snacks will be provided for a complete night out!

Our studio is small, and space is limited to a maximum of 12 guests (unless otherwise specified).

Parking is free and plentiful. Bathrooms are clean and across the hall. Please come dressed and ready to get your hands and maybe even your clothes a little dirty.

Please arrive on time so that we can start the project with enough time for completion. If guests arrive more than 30 minutes after the start time, they may be unable to finish their project. Ariella will do her best to accommodate for lateness and skill level, repairing work when she can to ensure the highest likelihood of survival through the kiln process.

Workshops & Family Clay Date cancellation and refund policy: 50% refund with written cancellation up to 1 week before the workshop. Cancellations received less than 1 week before will not be refunded. Rescheduling due to illness is permitted only once.

PLEASE NOTE: There are NO guarantees in pottery!

While working in clay is calming, pottery comes with many unknowns. Pottery is unpredictable and sometimes unforgiving. While Ariella will do her best to walk you through each step of the process, sometimes cracks and issues present themselves along the way. Either in the soft and malleable stage, or as the piece dries and hardens, and even into the bisqueware stage, clay moves and shifts. Even the best potters cannot predict the outcome, so please keep this in mind! Working in clay is meditative and gratifying; however, it is also humbling, as there are many factors out of our control.  This is the magic of ceramics- learning to let go and allowing for the process to guide you, and accepting that we are not always in control. This is the beauty of clay.  So enjoy the workshop, class, or private event, and remember that the experience IS the best part of pottery!  The final product is just the icing on the cake:).
